New restaurants sound interesting to me. Of course the menu, pricing, and food are the real tellers. Yeah for Ben & Jerry's. They seem to have a national name, but i don't percieve them that way. Probably the one name on the list that will add real flavor to carytown.

Kyle- I think there are plenty of mediocre restaurants that survive in Richmond and don't go away- but I'll leave that debate for the food critics.

As for Nacho Mama's, their menu has plenty of items that sound promising, I've just found the execution to be lacking: chimichangas where the filling had no seasoning, nachos cubanos that must have been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time- the chips were completely limp when served. Maybe it was all bad luck, but with limited dining out money, I've had too many bad experiences to keep trying again.

Also- I'm not criticizing these particular restaurants, several of which I'll likely eat at, I just keep hoping that some of the new restaurants in town will do something completely unexpected.

Except for Ben & Jerry's, I think these new restaurants could be a good addition to Carytown. If they are not any good they'll go away like all the ones before them.

I am always up for more Mexican, but I love Nacho Mama's. It's better than any other place in Richmond, and as good as any place outside of southern California. How can you not like the Nachos Cubanos?

I'm with you. Boring! The name "Carytown Sushi" earns a zero for imagination. We don't need two ice cream shops in one block. Viva Mexico is probably overcompensating for something we'll learn about on our first visit. Since Zeus has been serving up mediocrity for a couple years now, I'm hoping that the mutiny will produce someting inspired at Karsen's. And because I own and love my own precious pug I am obliged to patronize Weezie's at least once.

[...] This helps clear up the flux of incoming restaurants we’ve talked about before. Read more over at Urban Richmond. [...]
